Le Moyne College was recognized among the nation’s best in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, placing #13 overall and #3 for Best Value in the Regional Universities North category. The College also ranked #8 for Undergraduate Teaching, climbing 11 spots from last year. In addition, four programs in the Madden College of Business and Economics were ranked among the Elite Top 50 in the country, underscoring Le Moyne’s strong reputation for academic excellence and student success.

“Our consistently strong performance across the board in the U.S. News annual rankings demonstrates the College’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence in all of our programs,” said Le Moyne President Linda LeMura. “Once again Le Moyne is the highest ranked, best value institution in both New York state and the Northeast, which is a tribute to not only our faculty, but also the work of everyone at the institution.” This is the 34th consecutive year the College has been ranked in U.S. News rankings.

On the national level, the Madden College of Business and Economics was ranked in the top 10 percent of all business schools in the nation. Among the nation’s approximately 800 small business schools (defined as less than 3,000 students) Le Moyne was ranked #22. Madden College was also ranked an Elite Top 50 in four undergraduate disciplines:

  • Accounting – ranked #30 in the nation and #4 in New York
  • Analytics – ranked #19 in the nation and #3 in New York
  • Finance – ranked #38 in the nation and #4 in New York
  • Marketing – ranked #22 in the nation and #4 in New York

Le Moyne was included on several lists compiled by the publication (All of these rankings are within the “Regional Universities North” classification.):

#3 in the “Best Value Schools” ranking. This calculation takes into account a school’s academic quality, based on its U.S. News Best College ranking, and the 2024-25 net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid; the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal.

#8 in the “Strong Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching” ranking, which is developed from a survey conducted among administrators at universities and colleges about peer institutions within their regions, with schools needing more than seven votes to appear in the ranking.

#48 in the “Social Mobility” category. This ranking assessed how well schools graduated economically disadvantaged students and was computed by aggregating two to four ranking factors assessing graduation rates of Pell-awarded students.

#5 in the “Best Universities for Veterans” ranking. To be on this list, colleges must have 20 or more students using GI Bill benefits and also be certified for the GI Bill and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Colleges are ranked by U.S. News based on a variety of factors, including graduation rates, social mobility, faculty and financial resources, and peer assessment. The publication designates schools in four major categories – national universities, national liberal arts colleges, regional universities and regional colleges. Le Moyne and other institutions in the Regional Universities category provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs.
