Le Moyne to Combine Graduate and Undergraduate Ceremonies as Part of Commencement Weekend Changes
Growth in number of students enrolled in graduate programs led to change
Starting with the May 2026 ceremonies, Le Moyne College will restructure its commencement weekend to hold events on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.
The most notable change will be combining commencement into one ceremony for both undergraduate and graduate students. For the past several years there were two ceremonies – a graduate student ceremony on Friday evening and an undergraduate student ceremony on Sunday morning.
In 2026, a combined graduate and undergraduate ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. in the Exposition Center at the New York State Fairgrounds. The Expo Center, which has been used for Le Moyne’s undergraduate commencement since 2019, has ample room for graduates, family and friends in attendance, and parking.
With commencement now on Saturday, the following commencement-related events will be held on Friday, May 15:
- Honors Convocation at 2 p.m. in the Panasci Family Chapel
- Baccalaureate Mass at 4 p.m. in the Panasci Family Chapel
The decision to combine into one commencement ceremony was made due to the continued growth in the Le Moyne’s graduate programs, making the College’s Event Center too small to accommodate the size of the event. In addition to more students enrolled in established graduate programs such as education, MBA and physician assistant studies, several new programs have been added in recent years, including occupational therapy and clinical mental health counseling.
More details about commencement weekend will be communicated over the coming months. If you have any questions, please email them to commencement@lemoyne.edu.
