Six new faculty members have joined Le Moyne College for the start of the fall 2025 semester.

 

Stacey Buck, Ed.D.

Research Specialty/Area of Expertise: Special Education

Courses I will be teaching: EDG 571 (Managing Inclusive Environment), EDG 579 (Strategies and Methods of Special Education 7-12), EDU 302 (Special Education Processes), EDU 345 (Collaboration and Transition Planning for Students with Special Needs)

I was drawn to Le Moyne because of the warm welcome I received from faculty, staff and students. I appreciated the challenging discussions we had when I visited. I knew this was the right place to challenge myself academically, professionally, and spiritually. 

In my first year here, I’m looking forward to building relationships with students, faculty and staff. I’m excited to get to know the Le Moyne family and get involved in the education community.

Rose Kaplan-Kelly, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science

Research Specialty/Area of Expertise: My research is in geometry/topology. More specifically, I study hyperbolic knot theory.

Courses I will be teaching: In Fall 2025 I will be teaching Calculus I.

I was drawn to Le Moyne because I believe in the benefits of a liberal arts education. I value the opportunities for community building and student mentorship that Le Moyne fosters.
 
In my first year here, I’m looking forward to getting to know the campus community and developing student research projects.

Jennifer Krafft, Ph.D.

Research Specialty/Area of Expertise: Clinical Psychology

Courses I will be teaching: Abnormal/Normal Psychology, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Motivation and Emotion

I was drawn to Le Moyne because I loved the sense of community and belonging on campus.

In my first year here, I’m looking forward to getting to know my colleagues and students, and beginning to develop my research lab. My research focuses on hoarding, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapy, self-help, and stigma, and I can’t wait to collaborate with Le Moyne students.

Jacqueline S. Ly, Ph.D.

History

Research Specialty/Area of Expertise: Latin American History, 18th-century Central America and the Caribbean

Courses I will be teaching: HST 110 (World Civilizations I), HST 111 (World Civilizations II), HST 327 (Women in Colonial Latin America)

I was drawn to Le Moyne because I truly believe that a humanistic education helps students nurture their holistic self and clarify their politics, identity, and positionality in the world. Many institutions of higher education foster greatness, but I appreciate sharing a commitment toward fostering goodness with and among my students.

In my first year here, I’m looking forward to forging meaningful connections with students, staff, and faculty colleagues. I will be commuting, but I look forward to embracing Syracuse as my second home, and I am excited to explore local restaurants, cafes, bookstores, libraries, and farmers markets.

I was drawn to Le Moyne because of its focus on its students, emphasis on holistic education, and the collegiality of the philosophy department.

I was drawn to Le Moyne because all the faculty I met were so incredibly happy and fulfilled by their work. I’m excited to be part of a community of teacher-scholars that share a common purpose.

In my first year here, I’m looking forward to getting to know Le Moyne’s wonderful student body and integrating myself into the College’s intellectual and social life.
