Physician Assistant Studies Program Director Patrick Nappi Awarded NYSPPA Educator of the Year

The New York State Society of PAs (NYSSPA) has presented Patrick Nappi ’12, G’16, DMSc, M.S., PA-C, with the Paul Lombardo, MPS, PA-C Emeritus, Educator of the Year Award. Dr. Nappi, director of Le Moyne’s Physician Assistant Studies Program, will be presented the award at the NYSPPA CME conference Oct. 16 to 18 in Albany.


“I’m honored to receive this recognition from NYSPPA,” said Dr. Nappi. “Though it is an individual award, it is a direct reflection of the rigor and high quality of Le Moyne’s PA Program.”

“First as a faculty member and now as director, Patrick has been an integral part of the PA program for the past seven years,” said Purcell School of Professional Studies Dean Meega Wells, Ph.D, R.N., APN-BC. “This recognition is well deserved and speaks to the strength of the program in graduating competent and compassionate physician assistants.”

A Syracuse native, Dr. Nappi earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Le Moyne College. He completed his Doctor of Health Sciences degree at A.T. Still University in 2021. Since joining Le Moyne’s Physician Assistant Program faculty in 2019, Dr. Nappi has been dedicated to educating future physician assistants. He served as associate dean of the Purcell School of Professional Studies from 2023 to 2025 and has served as director since 2025.

Nappi was among those recognized by NYSSPA along with others in the association’s 2026 membership awards.  “These awards provide an opportunity to highlight the incredible professionals that are making a real difference in healthcare across the state. This year’s class is exemplary of the versatility provided by PA professionals and reinforces why New York State can always use more of them. We look forward to celebrating this distinguished group of healthcare professionals at our annual Gala in October, and are excited to watch how these recipients will continue to improve and expand coverage to those who need it most,” said NYSSPA President Maggie Narrigan, MBA, PA-C.
