At Le Moyne, care for the whole person isn’t an idea: it’s a promise.

Whether it’s navigating anxiety, overcoming self-doubt, or rediscovering purpose after a setback, our students are never alone. They’re supported by faculty who listen, coaches who mentor, faith communities that uplift, and peers who show up – on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

At Le Moyne, you're more than your GPA, your sport, or your schedule. We see the whole person: mind, heart, and soul

Student Spotlight: Hope Adigun

When the pandemic paused her sport (and her sense of direction) she faced a quiet struggle. But with time, trust, and the support of her team and coaches, she found new strength. Today, she leads conversations around mental health through Morgan’s Message, and encourages others to speak up, seek help, and lead with purpose.

Self-Care on The Heights

Every Monday outside the dining hall the Wellness Center has a table set up to provide students with a variety of wellness resources. Recently the Healthy Monday Table asked students to participate in a depression screening that will help provide the Counseling Center data to better help them support the current needs of students on campus.

College is full of opportunities to meet new friends, but making those connections doesn’t come easy to everyone. The Phriends group is for students looking to make new connections and new friends. They sponsor events such as dinners that allow students to meet and talk with other students who are also looking to form new connections.

The Zen Zone is a space in the Wellness Center for students to go when they need a break. The room is open during the Wellness Center hours and is just a place for students to go and relax. It is equipped with coloring materials, puzzles, weighted blankets and more. Additionally, there is a dedicated corner with resources available for students in the LGBTQIA+ community.

It’s quite often that you hear college students say the thing they miss most about home is their pets. For students looking for a way to destress with a furry friend, The College offers pet therapy in the library six times a month.

The Wellness Center for Health and Counseling provides services to all students enrolled, both undergraduate and graduate.  The counseling center offers mental health support and services to students both in person and via zoom with one of our five counselors. The center can also provide students with resources outside the College for those that may need additional support. Health services provide an array of services for students including routine medical care, and is the go to for students seeking medical attention when they are feeling under the weather. Health services is staffed by a physician assistant, as well as two registered nurses. Health Services is located on campus on the first floor of Seton Hall, with the Counseling center located upstairs. The Wellness Center for Health and Counseling is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m. To make an appointment students can call 315-445-4440 or email healthservices@lemoyne.edu.

If you need in the moment care and real time support for mental wellness, or in need of help outside of Counseling Center hours, they can use the Telus health app. The app provides students with 24/7 access to chat with a counselor. This can be through text communications, video chat or phone calls. The app offers students with support in  a variety of languages, and comes equipped with additional information for users about fitness and wellness.

Thanks to the role of Jesuit values in the Le Moyne education, I learned how important it is to use your education as a means to develop the individual, and I used the experiences around me to help enhance my personal development. I studied abroad, built relationships, made mistakes and learned a ton from them, and I emerged from each of these adventures a little more confident, a lot more conscious of balancing my physical and mental health and, eventually, a completely different person than who I was when I first got here.”

College comes with a lot of learning, both in and out of the classroom, so don’t be afraid to learn about yourself along the way.
