Traditions. Community. Spirit.
Ask any Dolphin what they love most about Le Moyne, and you’ll hear the same word again and again: community. From Opening Night to Dolphy Day, our campus thrives on connection, laughter, and shared purpose.
Being a 'Phin has provided me with so much more for my future than I could have ever imagined. Beyond the classrooms that consistently pushed my boundaries on what I know and my skill sets, there are the people that have been here to support me and always lend a helping hand. The community of Le Moyne is unlike any other and is what I believe to be one of the greatest foundations for success.”
There’s something here for everyone and someone waiting to welcome you to it.
Le Moyne’s community is built on connection. Join a club. Try a new sport. Volunteer in the city. Or find your quiet corner of campus to recharge. Whatever you’re into, you’ll find it here (and maybe discover something new along the way!)
Le Moyne provided a great space to learn and grow as a person. … It’s an experience and special place that helps develop the whole person. As a student, you learn to think critically, develop the confidence to ask thoughtful questions and the importance of being part of a community.”

The Le Moyne network is more than alumni; it’s a lifelong family. Mentors become colleagues. Classmates become collaborators. And the same spirit that welcomed you as a first-year will cheer you on for decades to come.
For me, watching students succeed from the moment they step onto our campus as prospective students with their families, to being first year students to commencement, that trajectory, that transformation is the most beautiful part of my professional and personal life.”

It’s completely okay to start undecided. Many students do. From your first semester, you’ll work closely with advisors who help you explore interests, strengths, and career possibilities. You’ll take courses across disciplines, connect with faculty mentors, and receive career guidance early, not just senior year. Changing majors is common and supported, and exploration is part of your journey.
“If you’re anything like I was my senior year of high school, you may have no idea what you’re doing or where you want to go. But that’s totally cool. Lucky for you and me, Le Moyne LOVES undeclared students. Le Moyne seeks to educate ‘the whole person’ through a Jesuit and liberal arts education– ‘an education of mind, body and soul.’ At Le Moyne, undeclared doesn’t mean unfocused or even unconventional. Being undeclared can introduce you to an unbounded world of possibility.”

Not at all. While Le Moyne is rooted in Jesuit values, students of all faith tradition (and no faith tradition) are welcome. You are not required to attend religious services. We focus on shared values like reflection, service, ethical leadership, and caring for the whole person. Students find a community that respects diverse perspectives and encourages thoughtful dialogue.
“Whether you are very religious, somewhat religious or not very religious at all, Le Moyne gives you the choice to be what you want to be. One of the beauties of being a Phin is you have the choice and no one is going to make you feel one way or another about your faith experience.”

Very easy. With more than 100 clubs, service opportunities, athletics, performing arts, and leadership programs, students quickly find ways to connect. Because of the college’s size, it’s common for first-year students to step into meaningful roles right away. Getting involved isn’t competitive, it’s encouraged.
“The best thing I did when making the transition to college was getting involved around campus! I got involved in campus ministry and other clubs and met lots of great people! I am still best friends with many people I met while involved in Campus Ministry, even with graduating 2 years ago.”

Yes. Changing your major is a normal part of the college experience for many students. Advisors work closely with you to make transitions smooth and manageable. The curriculum is designed to allow flexibility, especially in your first years, so you can explore and adjust your path without falling behind.
“My advisor helped me feel okay not knowing my path yet. Her mentorship gave me the confidence to change direction and discover a career I love. She makes me feel as though I can do anything, and has always reminded me that if I don’t like something I can always change what I do at any time in my life.”

It means striving for excellence while also leading with integrity and compassion. You will pursue ambitious academic and career goals while engaging in service, reflection, and community involvement. You’ll see it in classrooms, internships, campus leadership, and alumni who make a positive impact in their professions and communities.
“One of the most important things I learned from my time at Le Moyne was the concept of service to others. No one pushed anyone into it, but I gratefully learned that not everyone was fortunate enough to have what we had, and we tried our best to give to others, through food, clothes, and toys for children. I learned that lesson well, and I am constantly searching for ways to give back, all these years later.”
