In honor of Native American Heritage Month (November), Rebecca Pelky, a citizen of the Brothertown Indian Nation and newly appointed assistant professor in the Department of English, will read from her poetry collection, Through a Red Place, along with some new work. Pelky’s poetry focuses on historic and contemporary issues facing Indigenous people, specifically in the Northwest and Great Lakes regions. A question-and-answer session will follow the reading.
