Why a Cybersecurity Degree From Le Moyne?

As technology evolves, so does the risk of security breaches threatening to compromise confidential business data and our privacy. Cybersecurity threats occur every day and have the potential to be so damaging that an entire field is dedicated to managing risk and preventing disasters.

Studying cybersecurity at Le Moyne will prepare you for a lucrative career in this rapidly growing and ever-changing profession. You will learn up-to-the-minute technical skills and become a critical thinker who can view cybersecurity within the larger framework of your organization.

Where Social Sciences & Security Technology Meet

Le Moyne’s cybersecurity program provides a strong foundation in societal, technical and policy topics that influence cybersecurity issues to enable you to pursue a wide range of educational and employment opportunities.

Cybersecurity Undergraduate Degree

At Le Moyne, a cybersecurity major requires one of three concentrations: crime, society and culture; information and system security; or policy and law.

Cybersecurity Certificate & Minor

You may opt for a cybersecurity certificate or minor. A cybersecurity certificate can prepare you for opportunities like an entry-level systems/network security administrator or security risk assessor or manager. A minor requires five courses.

Cybersecurity Courses

You’ll study philosophy, world civilization and critical writing. Other courses include international politics, cybersecurity risk and protection strategies, criminology, sociology and information systems research methods. Browse Le Moyne’s cybersecurity course on the course catalog.

From Classroom to Career

95% of Le Moyne graduates are employed or in graduate school within six months. That’s the result of intentional mentorship, hands-on internships, and personalized career guidance that begins in your first year and continues through graduation.

I was able to learn all the concepts and fundamentals necessary for an entry-level Cybersecurity role. I was also able to learn key skills outside of the classroom as well, such as leadership skills, through my position as the Vice President of the Women in Cybersecurity club. Through Le Moyne I was able to receive a well-rounded education that I will continue to take with me throughout the rest of my career and professional development.”
