Health Clearance Process and Background Check

The Department of Nursing is partnered with Castle Branch to facilitate the health clearance process and backround check for both the Le Moyne College and clincal placements arranged through the Department of Nursing.

Please link to Castle Branch and select "Place Order" to view Graduate Program instructions. The student is responsible for the Castle Branch health clearance and backround check fees.

We will accept a background check conducted through St. Joseph's College of Nursing (Syracuse, NY) if it has been completed within the past five years. Please contact the Clinical Coordinator, Brandi Holzhauer, at holzhabs@lemoyne.edu, if you are submitting a St. Joseph's background check.

NOTE: Some clinical sites have their own background check requirements in addition to the background check you will complete for Le Moyne. Additionally, some clinical sites require the background checks to be completed annually.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please maintain a copy of all health records submitted to Castle Branch for your own records.

Please be advised that you will be required to undergo a background check at any point in the program. Applicants who answer "no" to questions relating to criminal background on the Le Moyne College graduate application and who are found to have a positive background check may be dismissed from the program on the basis of misrepresentation. Applicants who have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor may be denied certification or licensure as a health care professional. Information regarding eligibility may be obtained from appropriate credentialing boards. In addition, various clinical rotation sites may not permit participation in the clinical experience. This should be considered prior to making your deposit.
