Nursing Students

In addition to the requirements above, Nursing students must review the information sent to their college email address relating to required background checks via Castlebranch. These requirements must be completed before the start of classes.

Nursing students will also be emailed a required equipment/supply list and details on the required orientation program to their college email account when they become available.

Occupational Therapy Students

Students entering our program must provide proof of current CPR certification. This certification MUST include First Aid/CPR and AED training for both adults and children (pediatrics). Online courses will not be accepted. In addition to the requirements above, OT students must provide proof of health insurance coverage for the duration of their program. Both your First Aid/CPR/AED documentation and proof of health insurance will be provided directly to the OT Department at orientation.

There is no required background check to enter the program but you may be subject to a background check during the program by a fieldwork and/or clinical site. You should also be aware that unfavorable information that may be found in the course of a criminal background check may impact your ability to sit for the board certification exam and apply for licensure as an occupational therapist upon completion of Le Moyne’s MSOT program.

Physician Assistant Studies Students

In addition to the requirements above, new students to the PA program will be required to show proof of membership to AAPA and to NYSSPA at orientation.
To join the organizations, follow the instructions on both websites for membership:
AAPA student membership
NYSSPA student membership

In May, you will take part in an online medical terminology course that is required before classes begin in August. Instructions for access and completion will be sent by the Department of Physician Assistant Studies to your college email address. Your fall schedule will be built for you in June and you will be notified when your schedule is available to view. You will be paired with a student mentor who will assist you in your transition to the program in May. They are available to answer any questions you have and are excited to welcome you to campus.

Please be advised that you will be required to undergo a background check at any point in the program. Applicants who answer "no" to questions relating to criminal background on their CASPA application, who are found to have a positive background check may be dismissed from the program on the basis of misrepresentation.

Applicants who have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor may be denied certification or licensure as a health care professional. Information regarding eligibility may be obtained from appropriate credentialing boards. In addition, various clinical rotation sites may not permit participation in the clinical experience. This should be considered prior to making your deposit.

Professional Licensure Information

Please note that several of the graduate programs at Le Moyne lead to professional licensure. Students enrolled in our Accounting, Occupational Therapy, Family Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Teacher Certification programs should review the information on licensure available here.
