    • By May 15: Complete mandatory health forms found on www.lemoyne.edu/wellness and send directly to the Wellness Center for Health & Wellness. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: PLEASE MAINTAIN A COPY OF ALL HEALTH RECORDS SUBMITTED TO THE WELLNESS CENTER FOR YOUR OWN RECORDS AS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEM TO VARIOUS FIELDWORK SETTINGS THROUGHOUT YOUR TIME IN THE PROGRAM.
    • Before Orientation on May 23: Provide proof of current CPR certification to the Department of Occupational Therapy. This certification MUST include First Aid/CPR and AED training for both adults and children (pediatrics). Online courses will not be accepted.
    • All students are required to have health insurance for the duration of the program and must provide proof to the Department of Occupational Therapy upon entrance to the program and in the following August.

    Final Academic Documents

    • By May 20: Have your final official transcript sent electronically or by mail to the Office of Graduate Admission from the institution where you earned a bachelor’s degree. Background Check

There is no required background check to enter the program but you may be subject to a background check during the program by a fieldwork and/or clinical site. You should also be aware that unfavorable information that may be found in the course of a criminal background check may impact your ability to sit for the board certification exam and apply for licensure as an occupational therapist upon completion of Le Moyne’s MSOT program.

    Planning Ahead

The following includes important information and resources for a smooth and successful transition as a Le Moyne College graduate student in the OT program.

    • Housing Options
For those of you who may not be aware, the Department of Occupational Therapy at Le Moyne College is located in the heart of Hanover Square in Downtown Syracuse approximately 3.5 miles from Le Moyne's main campus. This location offers the opportunity for students in the OT program to be immersed in the local culture and community of Syracuse. The program uses the community surrounding our building to provide experiential learning opportunities for students through the MSOT curriculum.
Some students who enroll in our program further immerse themselves by living in the downtown area with a consistent offering of culture, while others choose the quiet and convenience of the suburbs. One great resource shared with us by previous students is the Downtown Committee of Syracuse website. Here you will find information about apartments that are convenient to the downtown location of the OT building. For those who may be looking to offset their housing expenses, we encourage you to see where your fellow classmates are going to be living so you can find roommates!
    • Communicate with Classmates
We imagine you are anxious to connect with the other members of your cohort who will be alongside you as you experience the journey toward becoming an occupational therapist! Students in your cohort will come from all over the United States and possibly from other countries each bringing their own unique personality and perspective. The relationships you develop during your time in the OT program here at Le Moyne will last far beyond these two years and well into your professional careers. We encourage you to start developing these relationships as soon as you deposit!
In order for you to communicate with your fellow classmates who have also deposited, we will need permission from you to share your email. Please send occupationaltherapy@lemoyne.edu an email with your consent to allow us to share your email information with the class. Once we get permission, we will share with you a Google Doc (just like we did during your interview) with a list of your classmates' emails. Please note that we are still accepting students and will add new students as they deposit.
    • OT Course Schedule (available mid-Spring semester)
    • OT Program Academic Calendar (different from the general Le Moyne College academic calendar; available mid-Spring semester)
    • Textbook List (available mid-Spring semester)
    • Dress Code for Anatomy Lab
For the anatomy lab, you will need to wear hospital scrubs and closed-toe shoes, preferably sneakers.
    • Orientation Schedule (available in mid-April)
