  • Welcome to Information Technology

Information Technology supports the campus technology needs of our students, faculty and staff. We support the administrative systems of the college, instructional computing, campus residential network, technology user support, plus hardware and software. We pride ourselves on providing the infrastructure, applications and services that are vital to the operation and mission of the College.

    Let's Talk About Computers

All students are given free accounts which provide access to the campus network, Email, Learning Management System, plus word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and a variety of discipline specific software.

    What Computer Should I Buy?

The question we get asked most often is "should I get a Mac or PC?" In short,  students should purchase a computer on the platform they are most comfortable with.  Most academic programs do not have a requirement for a specific platform.
We recommend students purchase a computer with the fastest processor, the most RAM and the largest hard drive storage they can afford, however for minimum requirements we recommend an i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive. These specifications should satisfy most students for their entire stay at Le Moyne.

Do I Need to Get Anti-Virus?

We require all students to have up to date anti-virus software on their computers. Common anti-virus programs include, but are not limited to, Avast, Avira, and AVG. These programs are all free and Mac/Windows compatible.

How Will I Connect to the Internet?

Le Moyne College provides internet connectivity via wired and wireless access.
Wireless access is available via Dolphin-Secure. Students can sign into Dolphin Secure using their Le Moyne user name and password and will have wireless access across campus. Students will only have to log in once and should connect automatically  until their next password change.
Dolphin-Guest is our wireless network available to guests. It requires a text-enabled cell phone number in order to connect to the network. This network is only available in academic buildings and public spaces.
Wired access via Ethernet is available to all students in residence halls. Due to the increasing number of devices connecting wirelessly, we strongly recommend using the wired network for a faster and more reliable connection. The College requires all devices using the wired network to be registered at If your computer doesn't have an Ethernet port, you will need to purchase an Ethernet adapter. You will also need an Ethernet cable (Cat-5e Cable) to connect your computer to the jack in your room.

    Let's Talk About Television
If you bring a TV to campus, we've prepared some guidelines and recommendations for you (click on any title to read more).  You can also visit for more information on Cable TV.

What Kind of TV Should I Buy?

Students should purchase a TV with a Clear QAM tuner  (look for this in the TV's technical specifications). This is necessary in order for the TV to receive a cable signal from our service provider.

What if I Already Own  a TV?

If your TV is less than  three years old, there's a good chance it already is equipped with a Clear QAM tuner. Once you move onto campus, try to run a channel scan.  If your TV cannot find any channels, you will need to purchase a QAM  Converter Box in order to receive cable television. The iView 3500STBII is a model that works on campus and can be found on Amazon or locally at Best Buy or WalMart.

    General Information

As always, if you have questions you'd like to talk about, call the IT Service Desk at (315) 445-4579 or email

    Using an Ethernet Connection

To connect a device to the internet using our wired, you must use our wired network.  This is required for Smart TV's, media systems, and game consoles. Once you arrive on campus, you will need to register these devices at before you are able to get online.

    Reset My Password

If students forget their password or need to reset it, they can visit our self service page at

We recommend students register their cell phone to receive verification codes to reset their password without having to contact the Service Desk.

    Special Offers

Microsoft offers special pricing for higher education students. Visit Microsoft Office for Education for more information.

HBO Go is available to every student living on campus. Visit, sign in, and select Le Moyne College as your provider.  Use your Le Moyne username and password to sign in.

    Printing on Campus

Network  printers are available for student use in public labs, in all residence halls and most academic buildings.  Students can print wirelessly from their devices at

    Heights Alert

Our emergency notification system will send students an email and/or SMS in the event of a campus-wide emergency or cancellation due to severe weather. Students should create a new account if they are using the system for the first time (and are encouraged to add a parent or guardian). Visit

    Google Apps for Education

All students have a Le Moyne College Gmail account and can use Google Drive, a free file storage application. Each student has unlimited cloud storage available through Google.  Students also have Google Docs, Sheets and Slides as an alternative to Microsoft Office with great benefits such as real-time collaboration and auto-saving to prevent data loss.
