How to Apply As An International Student

All students who are not citizens of the United States or permanent residents (possess a PRA number) are considered to be international students and should follow the steps detailed below.

merit-based scholarships.

Application Deadlines

Even though Le Moyne College operates on a rolling admission schedule, we require that you have your completed application including transcripts and other supporting materials on file with the Admission Office by the 
February 1 priority deadline if you want to be considered for merit-based academic awards.

Application Checklist

  • Complete the Common Application or the Le Moyne Online Application. If you submit the Common Application, please complete the Le Moyne College supplemental application. 
  • All international students who require a visa to attend Le Moyne must submit their Certificate of Finance (PDF) at the time of application. Bank statements, income or wage reports from an employer, tax documents or a sponsor letter are considered certifying financial documents. The Certificate of Finance must be received to process the admission for application.
  • High School transcripts will be evaluated by Le Moyne. All documents must be certified and submitted in English. Le Moyne does accept course-by-course evaluations from World Education Services (WES) A school transcript with final grades must be submitted once available.
  • Recommendation: Submit a school counselor recommendation or up to three teacher recommendations. For schools without a counselor, recommendations may be sent from a principal or headmaster.
  • Copy of Visa or Passport: If available, please send a front and back copy of your visa or the photo page of your passport. Please be sure all document dates and numbers are legible. 
  • Test Scores 
    • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - A TOEFL or IELTS score is required of applicants for whom English is not a native language unless they meet the minimum conditions set for the SAT and ACT exams stated below. A TOEFL score of at least (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (Internet-based) is required. An IELTS score of at least 6.5 is required.
    • SAT - A score of 500 or better on the Critical Reading Section of the SAT exempts applicants from the TOEFL test requirement.
    • ACT - A score of 22 out of 36 or better in the English/writing section exempts applicants from the TOEFL test requirement.
