We welcomed Kris Balderston ’77 home to The Heights for the Carroll College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Alumni Lecture, From Le Moyne to the White House and Beyond: A Liberal Arts Journey Through Politics, Business, and Diplomacy. He joined Professor Ann Ryan ’85, Ph.D., for a conversation about the experiences that shaped his career across government, diplomacy, business and entrepreneurship.
An honorary street sign recognizing President Linda LeMura was unveiled September 16 near campus at the intersection of Salt Springs and Springfield roads. Syracuse Mayor Sharon Owens and Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon joined the celebration, which included a proclamation naming September 16 Dr. Linda LeMura Recognition Day.
The Le Moyne community welcomed Raamdeo Agrawal, chairman and co-founder of Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd., one of India’s leading investment firms for the Fall Madden Lecture. Agrawal shared insights from his remarkable career, his approach to investing and the forces shaping global finance, while encouraging the next generation to think about both building wealth and using it to make a difference.
For generations, the Jesuit tradition of the Mass of the Holy Spirit has marked the start of a new academic year at Le Moyne. It’s the perfect reminder that, no matter how busy the first week of classes feels, we begin together: grounded in community, faith, and the support that’s connected our Phamily across the years.
At Fall Convocation, we celebrated the faculty and staff whose service and commitment continue to shape our community. William Holmes, Ph.D., and Donald J. Kirby, S.J., were recognized for an extraordinary 50 years of service, while Bernard Arogyaswamy marked 40 years and Bene Merentis recipients Jim Hannan, Patrick Li, Lisa Morgan, Holly Rine, Edward Ruchalski and Patrick Yurco celebrated 20 years. Mary Chandler received the Magis Award: Spirit of Excellence, and Eric Foertch received the Ignatian Award: Living the Le Moyne Vision.
