5:00 p.m. Baccalaureate Mass in the Henninger Athletic Center. The Baccalaureate (graduation) Mass is celebrated each year as part of Le Moyne’s Commencement weekend. It is an opportunity to pause and reflect upon the many blessings God has bestowed upon the graduates and to pray for them as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

Members of the Senior Class are invited to help plan the liturgy by offering suggestions for music, homilist and class speaker. In addition, many seniors participate in the liturgy as ushers, candle bearers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, singers and instrumentalists. All are welcomed to attend.

7:00 p.m. Baccalaureate Mass reception in the James Commons, located in the Campus Center, for graduates and their families. A plentiful variety of hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Admission to Undergraduate Commencement: No tickets will be needed for attendance at the 2012 Le Moyne College Commencement, which will take place at the Thomas J. Niland Jr. Athletic Complex on the Le Moyne campus. Sufficient seating should be available to accommodate everyone.

8 a.m. -- seating for attendees can begin

8:30 a.m. -- robing and line-up for Commencement begins in the tent on the Chapel Quad.

10:10 a.m. -- the procession begins

Post Commencement -- Diploma distribution in the James Commons in the Campus Center

Graduation Images will be taking the official photograph for all graduates at the upcoming ceremony.  Visit their Web site to register and get additional information about ordering photos. 

Yes, DVDs of the ceremony will be available for purchase. The order form for the DVD will be printed in the Commencement program that will be handed out at the ceremony.

The graduate ceremony on Friday, May 18 is expected to last roughly an hour to an hour and a half. Sunday's undergraduate ceremony typically runs for approximately three hours.

In order to accommodate the large crowd attending the 2012 Commencement, Campus Security has implemented the following parking strategy for graduates and those attending the ceremony on Sunday, May 20.

GRADUATES

• Parking is available in the G-Lot (Townhouses) and the E-Lot (Harrison Hall);
• Shuttle service for graduates will be provided to the robing area next to the Panasci Family Chapel from the following sites: Le Moyne Heights at 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.; in front of Dorian’s Pizza – (534 Westcott Street) the corner of Euclid Ave and Westcott at 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m.;
• Graduates wishing to be dropped off on campus, may be dropped off by using the Mitchell Hall Circle, located off of Salt Springs Road;
• Graduates are encouraged to car pool in order to allow ample parking for guests. 

GUESTS

Parking for guests attending the 2012 Le Moyne College Commencement Ceremony will be provided on campus:

• On a first-come, first-serve basis.
• Parking will be available at multiple locations throughout the Le Moyne campus;
• As guests arrive in the vicinity of the campus, police and security personnel will be on hand to direct them to a designated parking area; 
• Shuttle service will be provided both before and after the ceremony from the Campus Center parking lot (C-Lot) and from in front of Harrison Hall/ St. Mary’s Hall (E-Lot)
• If you require drop off service please park in C-Lot or E-Lot and use the shuttle service. No vehicles will be permitted into the main Athletic Center parking lot for drop offs.

Due to the large number of attendees expected for commencement we would encourage carpooling wherever possible. 

The commencement ceremony will be held outside unless there is a forecast for severe weather – that which could potentially pose risk to an individual’s personal safety. In this region the most likely scenario would be thunderstorms with strong damaging winds, lightening and heavy rain. We will be monitoring the weather closely to determine if the severe weather plan will be enacted, and communicate that decision in a variety of ways.

In the event that we need to move the indoors due to severe weather, the ceremony will take place in the Henninger Athletic Center. Graduates will be given five reserved seat tickets at the time that you pick up your academic regalia to use for guests. These five seats are for admission to the Henninger Athletic Center. If you have more than five guests attending, the ceremony will also be able to be viewed at a number of locations around campus (exact locations still to be determined).

No tickets will be needed for attendance at both the undergraduate ceremony on Sunday, May 20 or the graduate ceremony on Friday, May 18; sufficient seating should be available to accommodate everyone interested in attending.

Le Moyne College has discounted rates at a variety of hotels near campus for Saturday, May 19, for our 62nd Commencement weekend. Most are near Carrier Circle, just off of Exit 35 of the New York State Thruway (located less than five miles from campus) and one is located on East Genesee Street (approximately three miles from campus.)

When you call to make a reservation, you must tell them you are with Le Moyne College Commencement to receive the rates listed below. Most hotel deadlines are early April for Commencement. Don't wait -- make your reservations today!

• Nominees must be in compliance with graduation requirements.
• Nominees will be required to fill out a short application addressing why he/she wishes to be considered for Class Speaker and submit it to the selection committee.
• The committee will then review the applications and make preliminary selections.
• The finalists will then be required to meet with the selection committee, present a draft of his/her speech and make a short presentation.
