Le Moyne College goes beyond the classroom to provide outlets necessary for the education of the whole self. Extracurricular activities give students a chance to acquire and build upon skills for use in a lifetime of leadership and service to others and serve to enrich the intellectual as well as emotional aspects of life.
Le Moyne sanctions several student-run organizations based in communications including The Dolphin, our weekly college newspaper, WLMU radio, a radio station commentated by students that serves Le Moyne residence halls and Le Moyne College Television (LCTV), our college cable channel that airs student productions. You might also be interested in Her Campus, an online magazine for college women that organizes content college by college and has swept over 100 college campuses nationwide or the Communications Club, a group of students that works together to better understand the communication industry through sponsorship of guest speakers, employer panels and student visits to major media markets.

WLMU Radio

"There is a lot of independence given to you when you are a part of WLMU and I think that is why so many students enjoy doing it. They get to have a radio show to call their own"

LCTV

"LCTV has taught me how to use new software, work with other people and how to act in a professional setting. It's basically like running a business.  It's given me the skills I'm going to need in the future"

Candace Bonaventura '13, East Syracuse, NY

The Dolphin

"Taking a class in journalism is one thing, but the only way you can get a true handle on the craft is by actually writing on deadline and applying your lessons from the classroom to a practical situation"

Greg Mason '12, Liverpool, NY

Communications Club

"Communications Club has given me access to professionals in the communications field.  It has allowed me to practice the skills I learn in class and see how those skills can be utilized in the working world"

Bethany Dixon '13, Schenectady, NY

Her Campus

"For me, Her Campus LMC has allowed me to gain experience in managing a team and publicity. It has also opened many doors now that I am graduating college since it is nationally known"
