Gretchen Pearson named Librarian Emerita 
In recognition of her 20+ years of dedicated service and exemplary work, Le Moyne College has named Gretchen Pearson Librarian Emerita. Gretchen served as the Public Services Librarian until her retirement in June 2010. Congratulations to Gretchen on this distinguished honor!
Get a Library Card from Soule Public Library 
The Soule Branch of OCPL (Onondaga County Public Library) has a marvelous collection of films, cookbooks, and children's books. If you are looking for hot new dvds, downloadable books (audio versions or e-text versions), make use of its digital catalog and its Overdrive service to check out titles to your laptop, iPod, and smart phones. Check to see which databases it offers (some that we do not have!) Your neighborhood library is located next to the Le Moyne Plaza and might very well have what you need! Library Awarded Best in Show for Newsletter
The Noreen Reale Falcone Library is the winner of the 2011 Best of Show Public Relations competition in the Calendars/Print Newsletter category sponsored by LLAMA (Library Leadership and Management Assn.), a division of the American Library Association. The Library was cited for its Spring 2010 "Swimsuit Issue" of its newsletter. Entries in all categories are judged on content, originality, design format and effectiveness, by a team of experts in public relations and marketing who select the winners in each category. Winning entries will be on display the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans. Director of the Library Robert Johnston will accept the award when he attends the conference in late June.
iPad Available for Faculty
The Library has an iPad available for a seven-day loan to faculty. The applications on the iPad include "Papers" for retrieving and organizing scientific papers in pdf format, "Numbers" spreadsheet app, iPod audiobook player, I-Tunes University, Kindle and Stanza ebook readers, Evernote, Adobe Ideas, NPR, New York Times Editor's Choice, and more. Ask at Media Services.
Camcorders to Borrow
Three-week loans of Kindles will soon be available for both faculty and students. Kindle versions of books will be pre-selected by the Library and are visible on all 3 of the library's Kindles. The also appear in the Library catalog. To see which titles are already available, search the Library’s online catalog by keyword for “kindle” or click here.
