Gifford Family Theatre Announces 2012 Spring Production
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The Gifford Family Theatre, a professional theatre for young audiences, is delighted to announce its show for spring 2012: “How I Became a Pirate,” a musical romp by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, based on the bestselling children’s book written by Melinda Long with illustrations by David Shannon.
Who wouldn’t want to be a pirate? When young Jeremy Jacobs and his exceptional digging skills are recruited by Captain Braid Beard and his pirate crew for treasure burying purposes, Jeremy thinks the pirate life is for him. Until he realizes that the simple things in life, like a kiss and a warm tucking in at night, are those that are most important. This story of adventure and finding one’s own heart is sure to delight audiences 4 and older.
Production dates are Fridays, May 25, June 8 and 15 at 7 p.m.; Saturdays, May 26, June 9, and June 16 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Saturday, June 2, at 2 p.m. For the June 9 performances—DRESS LIKE A PIRATE! Student matinees begin May 22. posted on: 4/16/2012
