Le Moyne Teams with WCNY and OHA to Develop “History Minutes”
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Over the past several months, seven Le Moyne students have been involved in developing a series of “Central New York History Minutes,” which began airing this week on WCNY-TV, the Syracuse PBS affiliate. Five history students worked with the Onondaga Historical Association to research and develop the minute-long history vignettes. Once the research and writing was completed, two communication and film studies students worked alongside WCNY producers to edit and produce the final pieces.
You can learn more and view all five of the history minutes on WCNY’s website here.
The history students who participated in the project (along with the minutes they researched) are: Ethan Salem (“A Clouded Name”); Paige Lehman (“Herman Ecker”); Tyler Sperrazza (“Edgar Crouse”); Brendan Pronteau (“Mary Elizabeth Evans”), Michael Clark (“Alexander T. Brown”). Candance Bonaventure and James Butler are the communication and film studies students who were involved with the final production work.
The minutes will air on WCNY-TV throughout the year. Le Moyne sponsored the project, with the History Department, Department of Communication and Film Studies and Office of Communications helping to facilitate the collaboration.
