Associate Dean at Le Moyne College Awarded NACADA Research Support Grant

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Anne J. Herron, associate dean for academic affairs at Le Moyne College, has been selected as a recipient of a 2008 National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Research Support Grant to help fund her research. NACADA grants fund projects that significantly contribute to the field of advising-related research. The research being conducted by Herron is titled "Embedding Advising in the First-Year Seminar: Perceptions of Millennial Students and Advisors.” <br /> <br /> Each year, since 1983, the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) has honored individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising. The goal of NACADA is to promote quality academic advising and professional development of its membership to enhance the educational development of students. <br /> <br /> The over 10,000 NACADA members consist of faculty, professional advisors, administrators, counselors, and others in academic and student affairs concerned with the intellectual, personal, and vocational needs of students. In addition, NACADA represents academic advisors and advising administrators, and serves as an advocate for academic advising.<br /> <br /> Herron will be recognized for receiving this grant in Chicago, Ill., during the NACADA annual conference in October 2008.</p>
