Woodrow Wilson Scholar to Speak at Le Moyne College

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Donald L. Winkelmann, a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow, will speak at Le Moyne College on Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. In his talk, titled “Agriculture, Science and the World’s Poorest,” he will discuss the science of agriculture, including feeding the world’s poorest people and protecting their natural resources. <br /> <br /> Winkelmann earned his doctoral degree in economics from the University of Minnesota. He served as chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. The group’s goals are to alleviate poverty and protect the environment in developing nations through improved agricultural technologies.<br /> <br /> The lecture is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Center for Peace and Global Studies, student development, office of the provost and the developing Center for the Study of Environmental Change at Le Moyne.</p>
