Syracuse International Film Festival Opens with “Ben Hur,” Scored by Le Moyne’s J.C. Sanford
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The Syracuse International Film Festival opens with a showing of the 1925 silent version of “Ben Hur” on Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m. at the Palace Theatre, 2384 James Street. This program continues the festival's tradition of commissioning an original jazz score for a classic silent film. The score was composed by J.C. Sanford, director of jazz studies at Le Moyne College, and will be performed by the Central New York Jazz Orchestra.
