Marisa Valent '17

Double major in Spanish and theater

Marisa Valent is a senior double major at Le Moyne. She is also currently one of the Executive Directors of Major Arcana. She got involved in the PAC her freshman year when she auditioned for and was cast in Punchlines as Christine, a comedian who wasn't funny. Her favorite role so far has been Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. Marisa loves to act, direct, and write, and has been able to produce two shows she has written at Le Moyne. She will start her master's degree in Arts Administration next fall at Le Moyne, and hopes to someday be the artistic director of a theater.

Thomas Vazquez '17

Theatre Arts Major and Communication Minor

"I stumbled into the Performing Arts Center as a sophomore communications and Spanish double major, and walked out a few months later with paperwork to officially declare my theatre major. The beautiful thing about the PAC is that it welcomes you with open arms. It doesn't matter where your interests lie, because the people and the professors that are the heart of this building help you channel those interests in ways you never could have imagined on your own. Somehow, in light of all the major changes and career re-focusing, I've made it to my senior year, and I'll be auditioning for graduate schools with the hope to begin work towards earning an M.F.A. in Acting. I have had the good fortune of performing in and working behind the scenes on some wonderful shows here at Le Moyne, and these experiences have proven invaluable to my growth as an artist and, most importantly, as a human being."

Carrie Bates '17

Theater and Psychology double Major with Departmental Honors in Psychology and a Minor in Arts Administration.

"I have been involved in the performing arts center since my freshman year at Le Moyne. I started school as a bio major and was simply acting as a hobby. By the beginning of sophomore year I had switched my major to theater and psychology and became the Front of House Manager at the PAC. Junior year I realized that's where my passions really lie; in production and stage management. I recently got back from NYC after working at The Public Theater as a production management intern and I am now in my senior year and Stage Managing Boot n Buskin's fall production of The Taming of the Shrew. I love how the PAC and all of the people in it have allowed me to grow as a theater professional. I wouldn't be where I am in my theater career without all of the PACs opportunities to get involved in all different aspects of theater and the sense of community that surrounds everything we do."

Jordan Reilley '16

Theatre and English Major, Music and Arts Administration Minor

"We learn a lot about everything so we graduate prepared for life in the real world and are able to do more than one kind of job. My time here has also taught me to trust myself more, and it's showed me just how much I am capable of."
