You will be trained to communicate, to collaborate, and to think critically. Beyond that, you will be equipped to put those talents to work in a variety of settings, from business to government to the nonprofit sector. Preparing for the Actuary Exam

Le Moyne Students Presenting Research

Like many professions, becoming an actuary requires taking a series of professional exams. These exams are taken over many years, and companies provide study material and time, as well as bonuses, to help with the exam process. The first exam, exam P, is a computer-based exam offered multiple times a year that covers probability. Our probability course, MTH 311, covers the material on exam P. We also have a one-credit study course, MTH 314, a comprehensive overview of Exam P material specifically for our actuary concentration students, that is offered every spring. In addition, the finance courses that actuarial science students are required to take include material on the second exam, Exam FM, and some students also choose to take that exam while at Le Moyne.
