Our Mission

The Writing Center at Le Moyne College helps members of this community advance as writers and teachers of writing. We believe writing is a critical, social process and a professionally, academically, and personally important skill. We understand that writing influences how ideas, knowledge, and identities are formed and communicated, and we know that all writers can improve themselves and their texts with practice and input from informed readers. We implement the Jesuit values of eloquentia perfecta and cura personalis by providing writers with individualized feedback and assistance. We offer teachers of writing support and resources to increase their effectiveness. Through these efforts, we help members of the community cultivate a culture of writing that promotes individual writers’ unique capacities to use words carefully to contribute to the good of others.
