    2023 MLK Lecture: “From the Block to the Boardroom"

    Le Moyne College will honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a lecture by Robert Simmons, Ed.D., titled “From the Block to the Boardroom.” Dr. Simmons will share how his Jesuit education, and his father’s incarceration, inspired his belief in justice but challenged his sense of hope.

    Simmons is the head of social impact and STEM programs at Micron Technology and the Micron Foundation. He is also the author of more than 50 publications and is currently writing a book about Black fathers raising Black sons who are neurodiverse and editing a collection of essays centered on the experiences of Black college students pursuing degrees in STEM. Dr. King’s mission, vision and values have guided Dr. Simmons' career as an award-winning K-12 teacher, community organizer and corporate philanthropist.
