Le Moyne to Host 2019 New York State Association of Admissions Counseling Conference June 4 to 7

Approximately 800 college counseling professionals from around New York state are expected to attend the 2019 New York State Association of College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC) conference, which will be held on the Le Moyne campus from June 4 to 7. This year’s conference marks the first time it has been held at Le Moyne since 2004.

“This conference provides an ideal platform for Le Moyne to highlight both the College and the greater Syracuse region,” said Tim Lee, Ph.D., vice president for enrollment management at Le Moyne. “Our hope is that the investment in time that we have made in hosting the conference will pay dividends in the future by bringing counseling professionals to our campus to experience Le Moyne first-hand.”

Working under the theme Always Forward, more than 120 conference sessions are planned, along with networking opportunities for all attendees. The keynote address by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh will take place on Thursday, June 6 at 11 a.m. Among the social events are an excursion to the Museum of Science and Technology in Armory Square in downtown Syracuse and a celebratory "Dolphy Day” event - a nod to one of Le Moyne's long-standing annual traditions.

In addition to the annual conference, the 22nd Annual Coming Together Conference (CTC) begins on Tuesday, June 4. Under the theme Honoring the Past and Shaping the Future to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Camp College and the 50th anniversary of the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). CTC creates a safe space where college, high school and community-based organizations (CBOs) professionals can engage in critical conversations to propel our practice of equity, access, and success in post-secondary education forward.
